If I want to do the right thing, but want to remain anonymous, are disposable e-mail addresses traceable?

Sometimes we want to do the right thing such as report a crime, or suspicious activity, but worry about repercutions. How can we do that through e-mail and still remain anonymous? Without IP addresses or disposable e-mail addresses being traced?

The best would be to work through a proxy server. Try something like http://www.bushel.us or any of the thousands of proxy sites out there. This will scramble your IP.

Although, with the right amount of knowledge anyone can be traced. So, if you are attempting something illegal through the internet, you will most probably get caught. Even the most renowned hackers have been caught. (Go check out Kevin Mitnick, one of the USA's most wanted computer criminals.

However, probably all law enforcement agencies have got a privacy statement where your anonymity is guaranteed when you are reporting a crime or suspicious behavior...
